The JJ is $7 cheaper, and while i see no reason there should be any difference, can anyone confirm my feeling or is there reason to go with the F&T beside unfounded gut feeling?

I have no doubt that both are excellent capacitors, I would use one or the other.
I have been trying F&T, and I notice (subjective) smoother sound, better sound quality than the stock Illinois Capacitors.
No problem F&T, I love it. Of course, everyone has their own taste in sound, and that's one players taste only.
I do pay more for them, and it's worth it to me for the result I'm getting. I am always looking for better parts.
I would like capacitors 105C rated, 12,000 hour high reliability or more, low ESR, etc...and I don't think the F&T are quite that good.

When I've picked JJ can caps up, I've been surprised how light they were, compared to F&Ts of similar ratings.
No idea what conclusion to draw from that, and no other comparative assessments were made.
SGM, see the Evox-Rifa / Kemet PEG124 series specs, eg 27500 hours at 105C http://docs-europe.electrocomponents...6b800abff0.pdf
They're rather expensive though.

I've bought them from RS. (Radiospares, not the American Radio Shack.)
I've seen Rifa electrolytics on sale in the US branded as "UPE", which might help the detective work."Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
