  • Source of Ampeg switches

I'm looking for switches used in Ampeg SVT3Pro. I haven't seen them in any shop. Are they custom made for Ampeg? I'll try to contact Ampeg but don't think that they will sell/send me such a switch.

Ampeg might not sell direct to you, but the part number is 88-303-02, and maybe one of their dealers would order one.

Seems to me Peavey uses the same switch on various amps, I'll try to come up with a part number for that.

You might be able to repair it if you take it apart c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y.
I've had some luck with that, also they can be found in other electronic stuff like Peavey amps Enzo mentioned.

You've taken apart those stacked push switches? You are braver than me.

        Are they beyond cleaning, Markus?

If the switches are used in other amps, there is some hope to get them. I don't think that they can be taken apart. I was doing this with some very old Technics switches but they were single. In this case I don't think that this is possible and I'd like to see a photo how you did it. I tried to clean it with some fluids (Contact) but this didn't help. There is just no simple access to the interior of the switch. I contacted Ampeg support and I'm waiting for info from them.

I usually spray into the hole where the little spring sits.

Hi, you can try these guys: LS ELECTRONICS & SERVICES LLC - Home - NOW OFFERING LESSONS!

I've contacted them about Ampeg knobs, after reading that they bought a bunch of Loud's inventory.

Peavey part number 71322256. Stacked switch like yours, as used in MANY models, such as Ultra, Transfex208s, TNT115, TKO115, and others.

Ampeg PN 88-303-02, we purchase them from Run Run Enterprises (PN WPT-12A-6GL) and Toneluck (PN PBN-A06-003). There are 75 available in the distribution center.

Thanks for the info. What do you mean by distribution center? On their web site (toneluck) I found that minimum order is 200 pcs. This may be too much for me. I need 5-10 pcs.

I say call Loud and give them the part number. They (we) should sell them to you. The 'distribution center' is our warehouse in Auburn, WA.

Now I understand - you are from Ampeg :-). It's nice to have you here. Calling from Europe to the States may be expensive. I will send e-mail to the support team.

Hodgy, he is in Poland, remember.

And don't overlook the Peavey angle on this.
