Peavey 212 clean channel won't work

Just bought a used Peavey special 212 transtube with sheffield speakers from music store and cant get the clean channel to work, light wont come on amp or on foot switch, am I doing something wrong, supposed to have 3 channels, new to amps any help appreciated. Scott

If it was me, and did not have a full lab of gear at home, I would just take it back the dealer and have them check it. The clean channel should be controlled by the Clean<>Lead button without needing a footswitch plugged in. If it does not work, get them to repair it free of charge or get a refund, if they sold it as a working model.

Did the clean channel on the amp work when you bought it? Just a simple question that I think is very important to know. Also, does banging on the top of the amp make it work, for even a second, when on the clean channel setting.

Bad relay is my guess.
