Fender Deluxe 5C3 question

Quick question -- on the 5C3 Deluxe circuit, what's the purpose of the 1m resistor going to the OT secondary? Part of the NFB loop?

Thanks, Enzo. I believe the stock OT / speaker was 8ohm on this -- would different R values be needed for an OT with multiple ohm taps? That seems to ring a bell, I think maybe I've read that somewhere, but couldn't remember.
