  • No volume with Peavey XXL with effects loop in use.

O.K., I did fix my problem with my footswitch on this Peavey XXL head not working. It was a user head space and timing error meaning I needed the owners manual to turn on the right switches.

I use a BOSS GT-100 effects processor that has the effects loop send/return jacks. It works great when I pulg the guitar into it and then the mono out into the input on the amp. Now, if I pug it in using the effects loop circuit, I get absolutely no volume from anything. If I plug a cable directly into the effects loop send return, I have no volume issues and same if I plug a guitar into it.

Has anybody experienced this issue or know what I am doing wrong? I can't find any help int he owners manual either.

    Thanks,
    DJ

Here's a link to the manual with a schematic if that helps anyone. I'm lost reading schematics. http://www.peavey.com/assets/literat...s/80304908.pdf

It's a little confusing which FX loop you are talking about, the one in the amp or in the GT-100?
I'm not sure if the GT-100 is meant to be used in a loop, or only between guitar and amp. Some FX units do not work well in the amp's loop.
Generally, the amps send would be connected to the FX units input, and the FX units output would go to the amplifiers return jack.

Both the amp and the GT-100 have the effects loop. The back of the amp has a level selection button for the effects loop, but I don't see or probably haven't found an output setting for the GT-100. It works great plugged inline with the guitar and the main amp input, but I want to set it up through the loop to make some things easier along with using the amp's distortion.

Here are pics of both pieces of equipment.

Take the signal out of the Peavey FX Send & go into the Boss GT 100 input jack.
Come out of the Boss GT 100 mono out jack & insert it into the Peavey FX Return.
