COntact a Marshall parts seller and ask if they can get that one for you. SOmeplace like Marshallparts.com.

All the vendors of replacement output transformers for that application appear to be in Europe for some reason. They seem to run about 40 to 60 euros but the shipping might clobber you. You could try that, or adapt something domestically made.

Luckily enough, the dimensions and specifications of Classictone and Hammond transformers are pretty well documented. You might want to contact Heyboer directly and see what they can cook up for you.

Best of luck and let us know what you find.

It is four EL84s, so a Peavey Classic 50 OT should work electrically, even if you had to make an effort to mount it.

Seems to me I know of a Vox AC30 hereabouts that has a Mesa Boogie output transformer in place of the original.

                  Sorry but DSL401 has 4 x EL34 , not EL 84.

But the idea of getting a Peavey part remains an interesting option, just a different code one.

FWIW the Peavey Butcher was considered "a Marshall with a Peavey logo" so any modern (or NOS) transformer compatible with that should do.

Or consider a salvaged compatible "pull", maybe you can find one for less.

                      Ouch!!
                      You are right !!!
*All* DSL I used and repaired have been with either 2 or 4 EL34, so I thought you had mistyped the (very similar) number.
By the way, it's a very common typing error.

                      But now I googled it and saw that yes, they are making a "40W" 4 x EL84 model and a (more believable) 2 x EL84 15W model.

Looks like they are leaving no stone unturned to sell a few more.

Next month they might make a single EL84, 5W "DSL" for bedroom rockers.

Oh well, Jim must be turning in his grave

EDIT: and yes, of course, in that case any 4 x EL84 OT will do.

The DSL201 is the one with only two EL84.

In fact, if you want to see the schematic without the added ducking transistors, look at the DSL201.

                          Thanks for the suggestion.

I had seen the "401" schematic at electrotanya which is quite incomplete, but the "201" you suggest is more like the real thing.

Don't think I'll see many (if any at all) in the flesh around here.

Because of the heavy taxes, plus U$ price more than doubling in the last 8 months, it's absolutely out of reach for a garage/small band rocker, while a Pro will jump straight to the 100W (4 x EL34) DSL or TSL.

Speaking of a "20W DSL" or even a "40W" one sounds like a contradiction .

That's why I joked about the "5W DSL" .... although in the world of "20W Dual Rectifiers" and back pack sized "Ampeg SVT" cabinets sporting 2x10" speakers it would not surprise me at all.

                          Thanks.
