Yes. Very interesting. The YouTube page was also a good jumping off point to many other capacitor manufacturing videos.
I thought this one, KEMET Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor Manufacturing - YouTube , about aluminum electrolytic manufacturing was interesting too. Seeing all the equipment and processes required to produce quality parts I wonder what the processing is like for the can caps made by (or for) a place like CE distribution. The word was that they bought some of the surplus manufacturing equipment when Mallory ceased multi-section can cap production. I applaud them for their efforts. Just wondering how much of the original process they were able to replicate.

Remember the electrolytic troubles from a few years ago - the one where someone stole a formula and flooded the market with cheap caps?

That was more like 12 years ago that happened. it took a while for the junk parts to expose themselves by popping their tops.....

Don't be fooled, they are still popping there tops.

Oh sure. I recap power supplies in flat panel TVs occasionally, and most of them use the shittiest bottom of the barrel caps.
