Ashdown chassis removal

Got a peacemaker 40 with the front meter and light, so you can't just slide the chassis backward.
Anyone know how it comes out?
I'm guessing you have to remove the speaker baffle?

If the Peacemaker is anything like the Fallen Angel, everything has to come out to get the chassis out.

Looking at the chassis, I don't think the wooden braces need to be pried out of the cabinet.
With the speaker/baffle removed the chassis should slide forward.
Still, it's a bad design.

Yeah, I had wondered about the wooden block removal.
It did seem awful severe.

True .... but the way it's mounted, the speaker baffle is mounted from behind .... and the braces, as shown, stand in the way to pull it out.

The chassis can't slide forward because transformers hit the baffle / can't slide backwards because the stupid useless meter hits the baffle (which should have a contoured cutout matching the meter mounting plate).
And no provision was made for easily removal of the front baffle.
Standard solution is to provide a cutout in the rear bracing stripes to allow this, just check any Marshall cabinet or this:
Notice the angle cut braces, which allow the inclined front panel to slide out.
The way the Ashdown braces are set, they don't allow it.
I wonder how do they expect servicing to take place.

Right you are...wah wah wah.....
The lip in the front means the baffle has to come out through the rear, so not only do the bottom two blocks of wood/braces have to come out, but also the top right one because the tranny doesn't clear it.

A contender for dumbest construction indeed.
In the grand scheme of things, it's only like 5-10 minutes of work, but annoying.
