  • Schematic Help Needed Fender Stage 160 DSP

    Hello,

I have been searching all the usual places for a schematic for a Fender Stage 160 dsp. I have found the Stage 100 and 160, but I have not yet found the dsp version and am hoping that someone here might be able to help me out. Thank you,

Thanks very much also for the schematics.
I am rebuilding a totally fried 160 DSP. The reservoir Caps had exploded, & most of the Darlingtons were blown as well a most other things on the +/-45v rails!
Still getting nasty 250Hz signal on the output, which seems to be something wrong with the feedback loop of the Power Amp. The idea of the "floating" ground for the output takes a bit of getting used to.
Anyone else looked at the Power amp in any depth?

perhaps someone plugged it into 240v instead of 120v?

If I were you, I would look VERY closely at the circuit board traces, looking for some small section of a trace burnt off the board, like a fuse blown.

You are used to looking at amps where the filter caps are grounded, and the hot speaker lead goes to the emitters of the output transistors. But think about it, the speaker is thus connected between those emiters and the center tap/filter cap common. Now look at this. Once again the speaker is connected between the emitters and the CT/filter cap common, but this time they connected the other end of the speaker to ground. Imagine you built this circuit on a wooden plank, with no "ground" to connect to. You'd have the speaker wired from emitters to filter cap commons. The two approaches work the same, only real difference is which end of the speaker is grounded.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
