  • 4560 IC chips

I know i dont' post very often but this site has been a wealth of information for me. Thanks!
Can I replace the 6- BA4560 chips in my Peavey with 4560D chips. They appear to be the same to me and much cheaper.

Those part numbers are incomplete. Give the full numbers e.g. BA4560N and for possible substitute(s) you have in mind. To be sure, post a schematic of the amp so we can see if there's anything special about the application. I Note the TI and ROHM look like they might not be making them any more in DIP.

Edit: I do See RoHM have it in DIP in industrial temp specs.

Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

      Sorry about that. How about Ba4560 705 HO1 and JRC4560D 706 1G
Let me know if this helps.

        I am attaching the datasheets.
They are essentially the same ic.!
I clearly do not see what the price has to do with it.
Both are less than a buck.
        NJM4560D NJR | Mouser
You can always call Peavey, direct.
They will sell you what they believe is the best part.

Beat me to it JPB. I can't seen any significant difference either. Here is the TI version datasheet too: RC4560.pdf

When going from the same basic part number to the same number, the items are generally the same.
It is always best to consult the manufacturers datasheet.

They are just generic op amps, in fact 4580 is the common one today, you could just as easily go with 4580s. But 4560 or 4580, if it has that base number, regardless of the letters, and it is a dual op amp, then it will work. It will cost less than a dollar. But they do come in different physical shapes and sizes, so if yours are DIP-8, then don't buy the SOIC8.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
