  • ECC83 in inverter

I'm looking for some advise with an 40W valve amp - custom build, very similar to Fender Twin Reverb. It has ECC83 in the inverter stage. In all similar cases I always saw ECC82. The supply voltage is 350V. Can ECC83 work in this stage, or is it a mistake (and the valve won't last long)? After fixing problems with the preamp, the amp works very good. Should I change the valve to ECC82?

The ECC83 is commonly used as a phase inverter and it seems to work fine.

You can tell what tube the circuit was meant for by looking at the plate resistor values. In the LTPI circuit, the ECC83 typically uses something like 100k. The ECC82 and ECC81 would need smaller values since they like more current.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

Thanks. The plate resistors are 82k and 100k. I'll leave it as it is.
