hi , ive been getting this high pitched squeal in my krankenstein when ever i start turning up master 2, gain or the sweep knobs, i have tried changing the preamp tubes one at a time with no luck, the power tubes were done (prior to me buying it) with Ruby 6L6's.... this only happens on the dime channel. have tried the amp in multiple places with multiple cables and guitars....any idea what the issue could be? thanks.

Changing tubes does not fix the problem. However, a good tech could add snubber caps and the problem will be cured.
There's all kinds of amps out there with the same problems, factory installed defects.

The problem is not that there are so many "factory installed defects" (as you constantly claim), rather there are too many self anointed "guru's" who would rather add parts or modify an amp than repair it because they can't track down the real fault.Originally posted by EnzoI have a sign in my shop that says, "Never think up reasons not to check something."

so when runnin through a thd hot plate today i noticed that when i use my tube screamer or a guitar loaded with active pickups it disappears....ground issue? ive heard grounding the input to the chasis is a common repair and fix to this problem among several high gain heads....what do you think? talked to tony "krank" today and if i cant resolve it by grounding to chasis, then i am going to send it back to him and have him refurbish it himself. thanks for all the help!
btw this thing sounds KILLER, seems to have more gain and a fuller sound than my 5150 II,,,,,,,and that amp is amazing as well!

Tony "Krank" has a new amp company called STiFF amps, you can go on their website and get contact info, or you can email tony directly at tonykrank@yahoo.com ..........Also, Krank amplification is now defunct, time to start taking care of these GEMS!

thanks! i actually noticed when running through an attenuator at super high volume/gain that if i use a guitar with active pickups and/or use my tubescreamer in the front end the problem goes away completely......grounding issue maybe? i have heard that with these amps and several other high gain amps that grounding the input directly to the chassis is a common fix to the problem.....any thoughts on that?
