I've been playing with the idea for years, but never pursued it. I agree, it would be GREAT fun to watch waveforms pre/post mods, and watch ripple as I crank up the filtering capacitors. (I hope) I won't be troubleshooting so frequently that a scope is a must-have for my one guitar amp ;-)
hmmm...OTO, with a free PC-based scope, I could screenshot the waves, and create a before/after website.
BUT...I think I'll focus now on the first pass at *fixing* the amp first; then maybe get a scope to track the mods I try.
I'm going to open another (related) thread on types/brands of capacitors for the audio circuits and coupling; I haven't found much on this in my searches.
