Super reverb Vibrato--no worky

Ive got a friends silverface Super reverb at home and the Vibrato ONLY works if i short the vibrato switch jack on the back. the vibrato sounds great actually.

Shouldnt this work with no footswitch inserted? I guess im not familiar with this good ol fender

You are right... you are not familiar with it. That is the way it works on most Fenders. The reverb works all the time unless the footswitch turns it off, and the trem does NOT work UNLESS you turn it on with a footswitch.

you should see the screen resistor on this thing i just removed....Melted ! replacing those tomorrow.

The filter caps have been replaced , so i might just clean her up and see how she sounds .
