Yep thats the one. I went in and bent the contacts because they weren't touching. I've got sound! It looks like someone had soldered the contacts together and the hit must have popped them loose. I'm going to replace the jack, it's in pretty rough shape. Once it's all together I'm going to see how those two extra caps change the sound and decide if I'm going to wire them back up or leave them out. I want to say thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it!

The parallel caps will either lessen the Volts ac ripple (if the originals are bad) or it will not. (the originals are good).
This can be tested very simply with your volt meter set to read volts ac.

Heres what my readings are c37 58.4 v , c36 57.9 v

Is that a reading of the old caps or with the new ones in parallel?
I would do the readings both ways.
Also, that is a Volts dc reading, which is good to know.
Now try it again but flip the meter to read Volts AC.

thats with the original caps. those were the readings on my vac setting on vdc i get c37 26.7 c36 26.6
I'll wire the caps in parallel and post the readings tonight. Have to run to work.

26 VOLTS RIPPLE!?
See what happens with the paralled caps.
It can only get better.huh?
If the old caps really have that much ripple, they should be removed.
Buy the correct axial lead caps.

I just hooked up the caps in parallel and got. c37 ac 0 dc 26.1 c36 ac 0.5 dc 26.3


So what kind of caps should I be putting in there? lol

those are 1000uf 35v correct? the schme shows 1000/35

That is better.
Radio Shack may carry those, seeing that they are low voltage.
1000uf/35V axial lead.

My local radio shack has them in stock. I'll grab them on the way home and hopefully get them in tonight.

new caps are in. c37 ac 0 dc 25.0 c36 ac 0 dc 25.1

Didnt realise how noisey the amp was untill I heard it with the new caps. Just waiting on the new jack since the current one is jury rigged together. Thanks again for all the help!

Good old Radio Shack.
They are down to one or two cabinets but it is better than nothing.
I have picked up 2N3055 transistors (that's a hoot), small bridge rectifiers, fuses, resistors, diodes, capacitors......
Granted, it is at a premiuim price.
In the long run it washes out.
