I have just finished Fender deluxe clone. Any disadvantages with 1N5408 rectifier diode in Bias circuit ?

I can't see any problem using 1n5408, it's beefier than the 1N4007. I think i used one in one of my builds.

It's a diode that meets & exceeds the circuit parameters.
Use it in good faith.
(Watch the polarity.)

Thanks for the fast reply, It is my first build . i am testing the circuit and parts to be sure thats everyting I done is ok before I plug it to the mains. I have another problem Is it possible to test the JJ Gz34 tube rectifier ( for short) with multimeter ? the tube is rattling inside. (anyway no broken wires visible inside) I dont want to risk my Power transformer.

I would start it up on a light bulb limiter.

I don't know about a rattling rectifier tube.
I wouldn't chance it.
Even if it does work, WTH is rattling?

Thanks pontiacpete, I will do this with bulb limiter (no tubes installed) , then with just rectifier tubes installed. I wont use this ratlling one i mentioned above.
My other amp use solid state diodes so I do not have the other rectifier tube at hand for test.
It looks like there is no simple way to test rectiifier tube outside amp circuit. ?
