I'm putting some new tubes in a friends EVH and see + and - bias points on the output tube board and see the bias pot in the PSU. But not sure what to shoot for. Checked it with the old tubes and it was showing 72 Mv. Is that close or if not what should i shoot for? Thanks.

The schematic that I have indicates 80mvs at TP36.
That is 20 per tube.
Play it & see how it sounds.
To me, if there is not any xover distortion, the cooler the better.
If you feel the need to bake them at idle, I would not go over 30 per tube.

well, i dunno what to tell you. But i DID try before going advanced and in fact i just posted in the parking lot forum and looked thoroughly for "delete". There is no delete as a clickable gif/jpg or as text. Not in the page after i click edit post, not on the next page if i click edit post again, (yes, it gives you that option a second time in a row for some reason) and not in advanced. I even did a browser search for the word "delete" on all 3 pages and none were present. Maybe your privileges here are different than mine?

I read 'somewhere' that the low bias works in conjunction with the 'Resonance' control.
Hotter bias affords nothing that the design needs.
In fact there where claims to 'something is missing'.(it messed with the Resonance)
Grain of salt if you will.
Edit: here is the 'somewhere' link: Tech: Ninety Nine Days-Roger Crimm

Here is a screen shot of what I see when I click on "edit post"
And after I click on "delete":
Edit: I don't see any option to "edit" a second time like you mentioned, it seems you are getting another edit button where the delete button should be?Originally posted by EnzoI have a sign in my shop that says, "Never think up reasons not to check something."

There is a limited time for deleting posts and for editing. The forum software prevents anyone from going back and wholesale removing posts.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Daz, what internet browser are you using? Can you take a screen shot of what you see after you click on the "edit" button?Originally posted by EnzoI have a sign in my shop that says, "Never think up reasons not to check something."
