Okay, so got the new chip installed and amp put back together, retired the cabinet for 16ohm stereo input and all is well. I notice no difference in tone, and if anything changed noticeably for me, it's simply that the master volume is far less touchy. It still sounds great and total repair cost was less than five dollars.

Thank you guys so much for all the feedback and advice!!!!

      That is so cool!
Can you hear the 'stereo effect' on any of the settings?
(It is patented, so it seems)

Could it be that you're not using any of the stereo effects? The difference should be very noticeable with stereo chorus, stereo delay, and other true stereo effects.

The dude you are correct, I am not using any stereo effects. I use that spider iv head simply to model other cabinets. I did not really have time to find a preset that I did not make that happened to have the stereo effects on it due to the child and wife needing to sleep. I will try to give it a good run through later this weekend and give an update.

The playing loud/late is about to change though... Back in March I moved into the house I built. The basement was unfinished and I plan on making an 800 sq ft studio down there(I got it framed and wired so far). While I managed to acquire enough auralex to cover wall to wall, mogami cabling, nice mixers, a mac pro, crown amps, jbl pa speakers, decent monitors and a few nice mics/pre-amps, it has all been extremely cheap, or free due to my dumb luck of knowing people in certain places. That line 6 amp modeling and software will *crosses fingers* have to cover me until I can get some decent heads for recording. I have two options, mesa dual rectifier or spider iv heh.

As much as I dislike working on 'modeling amps', if the guy writing the code got it correct, they are hard to beat if you need a multitude of different sounds.
