  • Marshall AVT2000: DFX function completely broken

My Valvestate works perfectly well, as long as I set it completely dry i.e. do not use any of the onboard effects at all. If I add onboard effects to the mix, then no matter which effect I choose or how I change the settings for it, all I get is a rhythmic thumping/clicking noise instead of the desired effect. Does anybody have any idea why this might be or how I could go about fixing it? Thanks in advance.

Marshall AVT 2000 is the amp lineup.
    What is the specific model?

I don't recall seeing a schematic for the dsp board, which is probably where your problem lies.
But on the main schematic there is a marked header that goes to the DSP board.
The pins for signal In & signal Out are marked.
That is what you must verify.
Does the signal arrive at the In pin.
If it is correct then you can look at the Out pin.
If it is not there then obviously there is a problem with the DSP board.
It is a surface mount board, so it may be a bit of a challenge working on it.
I do not know how comfortable you are working with that technology.
