  • Nuts

Anybody know of a source for the nuts that go on this type of jack (see pic)? I've got spares for about every other kind of jack but these. There's a collar that threads into the jack and an isolation washer. I'd like to get a pile of both washers and nuts. I've been seeing a lot of amps in the shop recently missing these parts. The jack itself is usually fine.

I've saved a couple, from that type of plastic jack I've scrapped and replaced. Like panel-mount fuse holders, nobody I know sells the part that gets lost easily.
This isn't the future I signed up for.

Trying to remember where I ordered them from last, I don;t see them loose in Mouser at the moment, but I could swear that is where I got them.

I purchase the jack FOR the nut.
From what I have seen there are two totally different threads available.

Anyway, here's a better pic of what I'm looking for.

The CLiff ones I think have a different thread from the Neutrik/REAN ones.

Jazz makes a good point, the whole jack with nut and washer costs $1.08 for one at Mouser, under a buck for 10 or more.

Yep, that's the way I've been doing it, also. I just figured if somebody new of a place I could get a bag of 'em at a reasonable price............

The ones on this page give you an idea what they will and will not fit: Guitar Amp Jacks
For that price, might as well buy complete for $1 as suggested above.
From this page, it appears Cliff supply different colour bezels, and combination plastic nut/bezel, but not metal nuts, so they may be aftermarket parts? CLIFF Electronic Components - Professional Jack Sockets S4
As an interesting aside, attached is pdf about counterfeit cliff jacks.

Yeah g-one, I stumbled onto that same page while hunting. I just gave up and ordered a bunch more complete jacks. I'll just have to find a bigger bin for my "castrated jacks". Thanks for your help anyway, fellas- much appreciated.

Another one I've fallen for - I though Cliff stuff had just gone crap like most things. I'd started pulling them off old boards because the 'new' ones were rubbish.

Interesting in their note that they refer to ISO9001. It's a quality process and documentation standard. Nothing to do with the actual quality or fitness for purpose of the product.

The joke where I used to work was you can achieve ISO9001 for making lead life jackets.
