  • SVT3Pro fixed...how to certify?

I finished rebuilding the output stage of an svt 3 pro...replaced all 8 mosfets with same from Mouser, as well as resistors, burned zeners, and few caps. I did not attempt to match the mosfets.

I have to admit this was take 2 as I first repaired the amp without finding the burned 13v zeners and fried the mosfets I replaced...

So powered up with bulb limiter and the MOSFET rails came up to +\-37 or so removed limiter and they came up to +\-67 so OK... Ran the amp for hour or so and still ok.

Question is since I did not screen the mosfets from Mouser, should I take any other measurements before declaring it repaired?
Thinking Perhaps measure voltage across the .47 ohm resistors to confirm the output stage is balanced...Other? Thanks.

NB this job got me thinking that it is a crap shoot to warrantee the output stage of a head of this type. Probably very easy to fry..

First, files attached for those that don't have them, also JM Faheys reliability mod

I am not an amp tech, but if you have run it at idle, and nothing is too hot, then measure the voltage across each of the 0.47 ohm source resistors and hopefully all should be the same.
If you have a dummy load, run it at half output power with 1kHz into an 8 ohm load & check the mosfets are all about the same temperature.

One thing i would add is an output Zobel network, 8 ohm 5W in series with a 100n 100V capacitor, across the speaker terminals
