  • Peavey Bass-Fex battery type?

Fixing a Peavey Bass -Fex and the memory battery was removed.
Anyone know what type/voltage battery it uses by any chance?

Searched all over with no luck.
It's supposed to be replaced by Peavey, according to the manual.
    Thanks.

Replaced by Peavey in that it is not a battery in a clip you can pop out. It is soldered in.

The board art looks like it was a coin cell, but it was a nicad.

    PV part number is 70900176

    Describe as 3.6v 50mA-hr

PV parts may have one, call them. or they may have alternates.

You MIGHT be able to convert it to a lithium cell, I don't know the circuit draw. It would require a little rewiring and alteration of the main board. Talk to someone in service at the factory about that.

I wired in a typical coin type which seems to be working okay.

While researching there's a non volatile ram chip you can install eliminating the need for a battery, but they are rare and expensive.

If the original one was a NiCad there will probably be a charging voltage on the terminals. This could cause a real problem with a non-rechargeable battery.

Of course, I used a NiCad rechargeable 3.6v from one of my kids broken toys.
