  • Looking for unusual jack from Epifani amp

I'm looking for unusual jack used in Epifani 902C bass amp. As you can see it's broken. I tried to contact Epifani but they don't answer to e-mails (at least to my emails). Has anyone seen such jack? It has 10 pins and cannot be replaced with a typical jack.

Can you post a pic of the bottom side so that we can see the pin layout? From what I can tell from the pic already posted, it appears there are spdt switch contacts instead of the normally closed spst switching of a normal cliff type jack. It would certainly help to see the other side including the circuit board traces. It's possible they are not using all of the available switching and you could use a simpler jack.

Here are some photos. The additional wire on the top is not soldered by me. I was soldered at the factory. They cut the trace and later decided to connect it back. I don't know why they did it. Maybe they wanted to assemble a different jack.

I'm still looking for the jacks. It looks like they don't answer to any emails.
Would any good soul from the States be willing the help me? They are located in New York:
        220 36th Street suite 501A
        Brooklyn NY 11232

        Phone: 718.832.4664

I would be very grateful if someone would call them and ask about these jacks. I'm willing to pay for this . Otherwise, the amp will end up in a trash.

That board looks like it was made for two Rean jacks & it was dummied up for one.

Without having any dimensions, I can only guess that a Neutrix should be able to work.

Here is a link with the dimensions: http://www.neutrik.us/zoolu-website/...awing+NMJ4HCD2

Ans a link to the jack: NMJ4HCD2 - Neutrik

Thanks JPB for the answer. But the jack is more complex than it seems to be. It is DPDT and has two more contacts which are connected to the ground when a plug is put into the jack. Maybe Switchcraft has something similar but with different dimensions. I wonder what's going on with the company if then don't answer to any emails. I sent emails to every email address they have - also to the sales department. I wonder if the company still exists. Their amp and cabinets are very good but their support doesn't seems to be very helpful.

              I've had a similar requirement in a different piece of equipment and ended up hard wiring one of these back to the board;

The switching arrangement is shown in the technical info.

Thanks Mick. This is almost what I need but I need additional switch from TIP to ground. I think that I'll look at headphones jacks - most of them are almost what I need. But I still wonder what happened to Epifani. Having the original jack would be great.

                  Ahh... now I see.

Looking at their web site it looks active but then I noticed in their press section their last press release was dated 2009. Rather oddly though their site copyright is dated 2012.

May be worthwhile mailing one of their dealers that are listed and ask if they can still get parts (or even if the manufacturer is still in business).

They didn't make the jacks. It is a Cliff or a Neutrik/Rean, or someone. It is not a common one, but I have seen them in catalog listings.

It seems that they will be at NAMM this week and I asked my colleague who will be there to talk to them about the jack. Enzo, it seems to me that I saw such jacks in some catalogue few years ago. It could be Mouser, or Cliff, or Amphenol. But I cannot find it now. We'll see what info my colleague is going to get at NAMM.

They have pix of the jack on their website I was just looking at.

You could try calling the company, of search from what Cliff/Rean have

I contacted Cliff but they sent me a link to local distributor who does not have such jacks, nor anything similar. They even didn't look at the photo I sent them. Rean is the same as Neutrik and Neurtik does not have anything like this. Calling Epifani is tempting but calling across the globe may cost some money.
