  • Dummy Load and chassis rack complete

Hey folks just wanted to show the result of your help on getting my shop in order. Taking cues from forum member Sowhat and many others here is the dummy load and an adjustable chassis rack I built up this weekend.

I will see how warm these get under load and will transplant them to an aluminum slab if necessary. Thanks to everyone's input and suggestions!

I created something similar... Using Dale Resistors, mounting them on a thick piece of aluminum. You see three bars... One makes 4 ohm, another makes 8 ohms, the third is 16 ohms. I use 16 gauge wire. Each bar can handle up to 200 watts min. Yes, the resistors get "warm" but this works. It was a fun project on a rainy day.
