Thanks Leo....I wasn't aware of the pre-amp output being physically close to the input jack...I will be on the look-out for that.....Thank you very much for that tip....You guys are a great help...

The modern version of this will have a switch contact on the jack that activates a mute function, so there will be no circuit interaction near the input jacks. Fender does this a lot on their solid state amps.
