Hammond sells a AC30 reissue PT. You'll have to look at the drawings to determine if it will work.

I had a customer who wanted his AC30C2 OT, PT and choke replaced with MM. They are a little pricey, but they work. I'm sure there are other less expensive options available, but he was adamant on MM.

      I installed the following:

      PT: VXP-30C2SM
      Choke: JMI-30C
OT: VXO-30W (make sure to note to MM that it will be vertical mounted so you get the correct end bells for mounting)

He's very happy with the amp now.

I've repaired a few of these and all of them that had power transformer issues had failed spontaneously with no other fault being present. My opinion is that the transformers are quite cheaply made down to the bare minimum needed for the amp to operate. The ones that I pulled apart had burning through a number of layers and were open-circuit - usually this indicates that a hotspot developed before the failure occurred. Once replaced I never had an amp fail a second time, even with a factory replacement. Perhaps there were quality issues during manufacture of the original transformers that was improved upon for the later replacements.

well, the thermal fuse blew. No sign of overheating tho. Will replace it and the power tubes.
