  • Hookup Wire

I need to replace a wire in my Ampeg VT-40 going from the screen of the 7027A to the cap. I'm trying to replicate what would have been used original in these amps from mid 70's. What gauge, stranded vs solid, and where to get it. I only need a tiny bit as the wire that is there was cut short by an inch.

Where are you at? If you're close to Nashville I could give you a foot or so of 600 volt wire. I use stranded, 22 gauge, I ordered it from bulkwire.com.

Thanks I got some Kimber TCSS #19AWG wire. Funny I thought the #19AWG would be thicker. What gauge was originally used by AMPEG? The current wires seem heavier
