Back again....found the problem.......The -44V line had what looked like a square wave...but what it was....a sine wave with the top and bottom peaks cut off....(this squared off sine wave was NOT on the +44V line)......so, I started to scope back to the power supply.......found this waveform in the -44V section......removed the filter cap and tested it for low capacitance and esr...tested great.....so I re-installed it back into the circuit....and the problem went away...however, I had already re-soldered these connections in the power supply...yesterday.....but at that time it never fixed the problem......what is also weird is that whenever I sprayed the differental circuit with cold spray, the loud pop when powering down would almost disappear...really weird.......I have no idea as to why it did that...but...it was a fantastic and hair pulling learning experience believe me....I have learned much from this....and I thank everybody who helped me out with their suggestions....Hopefully, this will help somebody else out in the future......
    Cheers......
