Ok I thought I would post back about my blackstar to let y'all know what was wrong. I just got it back from Korg and when I called to ask what was replaced the told me they replace the IPC or PIC I cant remember cause the guy spoke so fast, and they replaced the bias pot because it kept walking, and they replace a power tube socket the was burnt from excessive heat due to the bias walking and a bad solder joint. so kinda glad I got it back but after it left me on stage looking like an idiot I don't know if I can ever trust it again. I also had bought a used marshall jvm 205h and a laney 2 x 12 cab concidering I had been trying to get the blackstar fixed for the last 7 months. I do want to get a back up amp for the jvm so I have looked around. and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with carvin, in particular I am looking at the v3. I have spoke to many techs and they have never worked on one so they said it means one of 2 things, they are either not around here or they are very reliable. since I live in Virginia I kind find one to try. I do like the fact that when I call I get a real person not a recording. I really want a company that will stand behind what they sell.

Be prepared to spend big $$ for an amp from a company that really "will stand behind what they sell." Many amps these days are built to be assembled, not repaired. In other words, disposable. Stick with Blackstars & Carvins and you'll see what I mean eventually. This isn't the future I signed up for.

I've been seeing alot of Blackstars in for repair lately.
The hand wired ones are built well, alot of other models have a solid state front end with surface mount IC's.
Those aren't built as well and tend to have heat related issues.
