  • Unknown transistors , 5 pin???

    Hi

This is my first thread, so i hope it isnt in the wrong category.
A friend of mine brought in a Proel Next 15 A active speaker. On power on the protect light doesnt turn off- it stays in protect mode.
There are two output transistors for the LF part, and appear to be short-ciurcited/burnt. I measured a short between 2 pins.
The thing is i cant find any info on what type transistors they are. The markings on them are SAP16 PO 3725 and SAP16 NO 3718.

Here are the pictures of the transistors/ICs.

Better to replace those with STD03N/P. Add external emitter resistors. Much more reliable than lousy old SAP's.

        Google SAP16N & SAP16P.
        You will find the datasheets.

Looks like the SAP16N was obsoleted 5/31/2007 try STD03N from Sanken as well - available at Digikey. Please check the pinout and specs.

Being aware that a ballast resistor (which was internal to the SAP16) must now be added to the circuit.
