Got this unit and pretty much all the caps are bad....never been replaced before...some of them even had the plastic outside coating missing..I made a note of the jack and switch/led to board wiring but missed the direct out jack...this wire can't go very far as it is pretty short....these wires are solid...not stranded and of course break off very easily....I am lucky it is only one that has broken off....looks like it goes to the center pin of the blend pot but I wanted to check here to see if somebody may have a pic.........Thanks a bunch.......

I don't know if I have the schematic for that one, but I'll look and see. Typically, the direct out is taken right after the first input buffer.

Sometimes if you look with a magnifier, you can see the broken wire end coming out of the solder on the board. The solid wire is copper, so look for a small dot of copper in the field of silver.

Thanks 52 Bill...I did have a look but can't really tell.....the wire is only so long so it can't just go anywhere...only where it's length will determine...and that narrows it down a fair bit...was hoping somebody had a pic...there is a schematic on the net but I am not sure of it's credability...the caps on the schematic are different than on the board..some of them....where the unit is so old, even the plastic insulation that has the printing is missing...if somebody has a valid schematic that would be great.....

link worked for me. No matter, schematics show direct out in parallel with input jack. Are they close?

Yes, two schematics that I have show the direct output connected directly to the input jack.

Thanks guys..I tried the link again and this time it worked....That schematic shows a relay..there in no relay in this one.....anyway, here is the copy I had found....just take a look... I might just go ahead and parallel it with the input jack........and see what it sounds like.....

Is there a board number on this unit, like EH48XX or whatever?

If you can't see it, try melting the solder on the input jack hot terminal. If the broken end is there, it will be easy to see once the solder is softened.

Ok 52 Bill......EH 1307A is the board number.....I'll check out the hot terminal of the input jack later today.......

I got the unit working....very nice echo indeed......I have a question for somebody......I did notice that when you engage the delay effect the volume drops slightly when compared to the level in bypass mode......also, I ran the direct out from the input jack.......and the level is slightly lower there as well......any thoughts on this anybody?? besides that, the unit sounds great......

in this unit the direct out is not connected to the input jack....it is connected to the circuit after the level control....I found the spot where the wire connects...it works great. the owner was very happy........
