Hi all
Happy July 4th to all you people from across the pond
I have a customer how has brought a used Marshall 1987x from a guitar shop in the uk but didnt hear it or see it and had it shipped to him.
The amp is in really great shape, Never had any work done on it. New Tubes. The normall channel is not the problem. The Treble channel is
somewhat hissy. even at low volume. Swapped the preamp tubes out still the same. My own marshall with almost identical circuit, is not hissy at all
The shop has offered 2 options, Get me to fix it and they pay or send it back. He wants me to fix it. Once he has it working correctly and knows the amp he is going to make decision on master vol mod
Hissy at low volume too
Ive never had the pleasure of working on one of these before. So my question is
Are these amps normally hissy ?
have a good day
