Sounds like a good idea. Nothing like fresh metal contacts for reliable operation.
You'll also no doubt find (when you have your amp up and running) that all the front panel pots are gritty and grungy sounding. The Wiper ring in the pots are metal, as opposed to a carbon track. I pulled each of the pots completely apart, used a metal cleaning compound on the center ring to get them shiny-new again, washed off the cleaning compound, laid in a thin film of contact cleaner, cleaned out the bushing grease and re-greased the shaft/bushing, then re-assembled. Pots good to go for another couple decades. You can try exercising the pots to get back to bare metal, but I usually tear them down for a full cleaning.
