Fender HR Deville delayed channel switching

Pin 2 and 4 of the relay?? or where the footswitch 1/4" jack connects?

I did De-oxit the actual push-button switches but no change. It might have gotten rid of the pop though. Although I swapped the relay at the same time I cleaned the push-buttons, so who knows.

I was glad to give up on this since both amps worked exactly the same and the test points checked fine, and now you guys are dragging me back in!

I think Jazz was talking about the footswitch jack becoming dirty or something that would cause a high enough resistance to slow down the switching time of the circuit.

I would think that any audio pop was generated at the relay and not the panel switch.

Because it only does it when channel switching, I could make a reasonable case for it being a design feature to keep the reverb from blooming when switching from dirty to clean.

As for pulling you back in, that's easy for us to do, as we don't have to actually do anything.

Unfortunately I don't think this will work because I already cleaned all the jacks with De-oxit. I do like to solve the mystery though if possible, so thanks for your suggestions.

I will try the jumper just in case.
