      See how it sounds biased this cold. If you hear bad crossover distortion, increase the bias. Colder bias = longer tube life. Somewhere between your 40 and 60mA bias numbers you will find a balance between tone and reliability that is best for you.

        Re-biased it hotter with each tube running about even in the low 50ma-region, putting out 22 or so watts per tube. Played it for about an hour and it sounded great. Less shrill and more dynamic. Best of all: no blown fuses!! Will keep playing and update this thread if anything should happen. Thanks g-one and everybody else for y'alls help.
