  • Carlsbro GLX100 Reverb tank

    Good morning

I'm need of info on this reverb tank for this model. The numbers on the tank are so faded you can't read them at all. Open circuit coil. Carlsbro can't help.

Does anyone have one or info on what Accutronics tank it is

    Input coil o/s
    Output coil 1 ohm

Maybe you have it backwards, input coils vary from 1 to 3 ohms DCR for the nominal 8 ohms ones (typically the transformer driven ones found in old Fenders) to some 60r DCR (nominally 200 to 600 r impedance) found in many SS driven ones, generally using 2 or 3 Op Amps in parallel to supply more current (or a couple small current boosting transistors) to some 200r DCR (nominal "1800 ohms" or "high impedance") which are driven by a single lonely Op Amp or a tube plate (Ampeg).; but outputs are always high impedance because you need as much signal as possible.

So I woud expect a 200r DCR output coil, never 1 ohm .

As of the driving coil, how is it driven?

Edit: nice amp, looks very similar to a Marshall Valvestate, wouldn't be surprised at all if they were (cough cough) "strikingly similar inside" if you know what I mean

So a Valvestate reverb tank *should* work.

I was favorably surprised by finding it's actually made in England !!!

Carlsbro is an unjustly despised or forgotten brand (maybe because Jimi Hendrix didn't use them or something ) but they always were very well made, good sounding, and good price to boot.

Yes thats what i thought. But one coil is open circuit so a new tank is a must . Ive found a a picture of a GLX150 tank and its a 8BB2A1B . Carlsbro valve amp stuff is good.. see some here in the uk but not as much as the major brands
