I got a Lee Jackson XLA 1000 100 watt head ( supposedly a factory made hotrodded JCM 800 )
Problem is..... at low & medium volumes it sounds great..... but when you try to turn it to a stage level (in this case 4 is the magic number) its starts this horrible squalling sound when you hit a note that just keeps going till you turn it back down. and turning it up once that starts seems to change the frequency of the noise till you drop it back down below 4 and it will quit. You can turn it up and not touch the guitar and it just idles quietly.
I have checked and replaced ALL the tubes..... hit every solder joint again (as did the repair guy from Lees site I sent it to for over a month) but it still does it.
if you bypass the preamp (plug into the return on the effects loop) it does it there as well.
And before you say "contact Lee" I tried that and got nowhere.
This thing is driving me nuts... any help apprecieated!
