Peavey Classic 2X12 w/ 6L6's

I picked up a Peavey Classic 2X12. It the vintage that has the funky Aluminum strips on each side of the grill. Bright and normal channel have separate volume controls. It works ok on the normal channel but when I plug into the bright channel and turn up the volume it gives off a real loud high frequency squeal. Anyone know anything about these amps?

Email Roger at Peavey Customer Service and get him to email you the schematic. You'll need the serial number also so he can get the right schemo. There are some small signal TO-92 package transistors in that bright channel right after the input stage that could be bad. I had to replace them on the last one I did. You can use the normal channel to reference the voltages for the bright channel as I believe that they are the same transistor wise.
