  • Univox U1011: couple questions

    I picked up a Univox U1011: 2 x 6L6GC / 5X preamp tubes.
I just want to double check a few things with you guys:
-First thing I'm going to do is ground this sucker. I was just going to at the cable and ground to chassis. Anything else I should do besides that?
It has a .047 cap (circled) but I'm not sure if it's a ground cap.

-Also, what would these 2 trim pots be for? I'm assuming one is bias?

The trimmers appear to be for bias and for tremolo (sweep?).

Thanks g-one. I guess I will just remove it as usual then.
Thanks for the schematic. It's not 'quite' mine...I've yet to find any info on the one I have. It only has 2 power tubes, and has a different logo and knobs than any other I've seen online.

      EDIT- she looks like this:

Is that U-1011 model number appearing on the chassis somewhere? If you are just going by the board number, it's possible they used that board in more than one model.

No model # anywhere....and I read up on how they keep using the U1011 boards on a few different models.

I am having a hard time with that script logo.

They used a script back in the '60's (not even close) & then they changed to that blocky looking logo.

Never saw a nameplate like this one.

I know, I've been researching it all morning. I found the same knobs on some pictures from their 60's amps.
It has the U1011 circuit board. Stock 3xgrey can caps (which i am changing)
Whatever it is it sounds really good.

                That's what matters.

I think that the cabinet was either custom made or refurbed.
It does look good, that I will admit.

I think it's a Univox 1226 with different knobs and a different logo from what I can find....

Then it does seem more like a U-1226

Just to make sure....i should be ok if i just clip that cap?
it goes between 2 lugs on the tagboard.
