Pretty much everyone I deal with here in the UK is good as far as major brands go. I don't have any relationship with Line 6 or Behringer, though.
There's a limit economically on how much stock can be held for how long. Not only that, but there comes a point where the price of a board/specialist part would be prohibitive compared to the residual value of the equipment. The price of spares is indexed annually and based on the original value of the part. So let's say you wanted a board for an older modelling amp and it's still listed as a part. When the amp was new to the market it would be selling for close to list, and the parts costing would have been decided at the time the amp was launched. But there's inflation, warehouse costs, insurance and all sorts of overheads that need to be applied year on year to the price of the part. So that £300 amp maybe would now be worth £100 used, but the board may be £250. You wouldn't bother.
