    Three thumbs up. And you don't want to be disrespectful of the most valued and biggest contributor of this community either. In such case a little "chest thumping" would be the least of my worries.

      Check out the ac30 cathode resistor value and do a little sum. Most guitar amps that use el84s run them way hot. It sounds good. People who work on guitar amps a lot know this and you have happened upon a community of that nature. Up to you whether you decide to respect that or not.

      My advice? Get some 6p14p, they'll take it fine. Or if not, go take advice from the RCA manual and change your cathode resistor. Not really sure what you're asking but you've had answers to all the variations I can think of
