It's a multi-cap. Most likely 3) 40UF caps and a 70UF in one body referencing the schematic. Probably one common ground wire and 4 leads for each of the filters. It likely says on the side of the cap somewhere. You could replace it with 4 separate capacitors.

I believe it is a 40uf.I think you have a can cap on the outside of the chassis with 70-40-40 and that one in the pic is the other 40 shown on the schem. The brown cardboard tube should be able to "roll" freely of the alluminum can inside, showing the value.

Looks like me and the Dude were replying at the same time.If you look closer you will see the multi-cap connections on the lower left, that large brown one is a single. The red lead at the multi cap connection would be the 70uf,making that one a 40.But roll the tube around just to be sure. You can also look at the side of the can on the outside and ascertain the values.Should say 70uf,40uf,40uf.You should be able to get a replacement multi cap at fliptops.net

Well slap me! I hadn't noticed the can cap (lower left). I saw the wires on one end of the single (brown) cap and figured it for a multi. On closer inspection, it looks like the wires go through the chassis rather than to the cap. At any rate, spin the cap around. It should say what it is right on the cap.

If you look closer you can see a black lead from the bottom of the brown cap connecting to the ground lug at the can.On the top of the brown cap, another black lead connecting to the 2.2k on the board.

On another note, its been a while since I've been inside a Reverbo, but I've seen some use a 22uf or 20uf in this spot.

                Hello,

After further review of the play... It is indeed a 40uf/450v cap (im glad I drained them before playing) the can is indeed a 70/40/40 450v multi capacitor can... So I pulled the brown paper 40uf out of its holder and flipped it over to reveal its size, etc... Thanks for the tip on fliptops.net, fantastic! These look to be original caps, definately time to replace...

                thanks for your assistance,
