  • Martin Pro Stage lighting

    Anybody here have any experience with this kind of lighting...Some guy bought this stuff at an auction and wanted me to look at it.....Atomic 3000 strobe, mania SCX 500, Robo Scan 812, and an X=Line Idea Wash 250..........this is all DMX gear bit he doesn't have a controller....all he has is a bunch of lights....

    Don't know about those specific pieces, but just a heads up. Many of the Martin DMX lights use pin 2 as DMX+ instead of pin 3 which is bass ackwards from the rest of the industry. Check the manuals and be sure to configure the DMX pin out correctly when testing. Some controllers have a polarity switch for this purpose. You'll have to get ahold of a controller to test them. There are freeware PC based controllers with a USB to DMX dongle that work, also. But, it usually takes some fiddling to make them work, which will just be more hassle for you. Probably better to borrow a hardware controller.

      OK. Thanks for the heads up...I sent off an email to Martin to see if I can get schematics.....I'll let you know what happens.....
