Finally got to take a look at this amp.......it has the 2 prong plug which will be changed.....and remove that death cap........jacks need to be cleaned......pots were noisy so I cleaned them.....tube sockets look very good........however those bear claw retainer clamps have to go...I'll use the spring retainers here....All caps are original so I will have to replace them....speaking of caps, the ones under the doghouse are rated for 500V with a surge rating of 550V....I don't see modern electrolytics marked like this....I am going to change the plate load resistors and also the grid/screen resistors on the outputs as well.....the tubes read very high on the emissions tube tester however the pins look like they could use a good scrubbing...the output tubes don't read as good as the pre amp tubes.......this was just a quick check out as I haven't plugged in a bass guitar yet.....but will do so tomorrow.....there is a pot there that looks like a bias pot......not quite sure as I have to get the proper schematic...either that or a balance pot.....if anybody has anything to add to the list of things to check fire away......Will not be on line Thursday and Friday...Thursday is my birthday and Friday is.....you guessed it.....recovery day.......
