I have just finished a 5E3 from scratch following as possible Fender schem and layout except for Cathode resistor 270R instead of 250R and 4,7K instead of 5K for first dropping resistor.
Based in France I am using 230VAC from the wall, a FTDP/240M Mercury Magnetics PT (380-0-380) known in MM as stock B+ is install and wired to 230VAC for primary (Multi tap Primary PT).
Here are my voltages with a 5Y3GT from Sovtek.
B+ at 5Y3GT output 416 VDC
After 4K7 resistor 379 VDC
After 22k resistor 276 VDC
6V6S (JJ) Plate 403 VDC
Pin8 6V6 26,8 VDC
It seems to me that voltages are to high maybe because of PT output?
And of course 6V6 are biased very hot with this values.
What is the best solution to reduce voltages?
1 Swaping to a real NOS 5Y3GT to decrease B+?
2 Changing 4k7 to 5k1 (or more) dropping resistor value?
3 Or maybe another solution?
