  • Tube Sockets

Looking for recommendation for tube sockets that mount onto PCBs. I have a Peavey VTM 60 and one of the plastic output tube sockets is cracked.

You could just call PV parts and get one. And if the actual part number is no longer available, I see no reason the ones they use in the 5150 et al wouldn't work, you'd have to trim the long leads off after installing, but that's no issue.

If you want to find your own, here is one good source with a selection.

Check whether your chassis hole is 1" or 1.25" or whatever.

      Peavey quoted :
30806631- 9 PIN CERAMIC TUBE SOCKET $1.99 ea for the 12AX7 tubes
      70806620- 8PIN PC MNT SCKT W/FLANGE $9.19 ea for the 6L6 tubes

I have bought some components from this source and will probably get the Omron wire wrap/PC mount - it looks like they will fit.

You can never have enough tube sockets!

So many times on old amps they are just worn to death from people swapping tubes in and out.
Same goes for PC mount ones too.

There are certain amps where the sockets always crap out.
