I do work for several stores in the area. One of the stores likes to buy the parts I use in their repairs...especially if they are more than the typical resistor/capacitor thing. This one had a bad power module (burned so I couldn't just solder on another 7293).
They ordered a new module and I installed it. As soon as the power switch was thrown, my current limiting lamp lit up like a lighthouse.
I finally figured out that the inline connector that goes to the main board was wired exactly backwards. I popped the wires out and wired it the correct way and it now works...but not until after I replaced the damaged original 7293. I don't know where they purchased the part.
Just a heads up.
