Harmony H500 AC cord mod

Is there a way to make this amp safe to operate without using a isolation transformer? Is converting to a three wire, grounded ac line cord and removing the death cap sufficient?

I think I'll go one better and build a tweed princeton. It will make for a great little test bench amp for guitar repairs.
