Yes, check your power supply outputs. To check for shorts, you only need to measure each of those points to ground for an unexpected load. I would also check the bias supply (labeled -50V on the schematic). If you detect no shorts, replace the diodes, fire up the amp and check that voltages are similar to those listed on the schematic.

Sorry to bump a necrothread, but I was going back through my trials and tribulations with this amp to remember exactly what I'd done to it and realized I'd never followed up with the final outcome. I thought it might be useful to someone Googling a similar problem- replacing the 220k resistor and rectifier diodes fixed it, and the amp's a happy camper now. I should have replaced those diodes when I did my recap in the first place, it's cheap insurance. Lesson learned.
