I'd like to than all of you that helped me go through this.
so the main issues were (for the record)
My 1990 Fender "The twin" issues were as follows.
1. overheated / lifted traces on the 30 ohm / 10 me resistor (I've ordered a chassis mount one to resolve later)
2. loose tube socket connections
3. dirty / nasty tube sockets.
You guys taught me to safely drain caps, diagnose some basic circuits (the heater circuit) and spot loose / bad connections.

In "The Twin" prime suspects for faulty switch contacts are:
J203, Pwr Amp Input jack
S201B/A, FX Level Select switch
S12A/B, reverb select switch
Edit - I see that you were reporting the successful fix while I was typing.
Glad to hear the good news. (And you didn't even need to replace the output transformer)
